    Very often money was not given in exchange for goods, but butter or eggs and often labor was given in exchange for goods. It was considered unlucky to con transact businesss on Monday and Saturday while Friday was a lucky day.
    Guineas and half guineas, crowns and half crowns sixpences (tanners) shillings (lobs) and ten penny pieces and a four penny pieces were commonly used.
